May 30, 2003 Kingston Releases 4 in 1 PC Card Type II Adapter

Iomega Corporation announced two new entry level network attached storage (NAS) servers that deliver superior performance and value for small businesses and workgroups: the Iomega NAS A205m and the A305m servers. Also announced today is the complete refresh of the Iomega P400 series of mid-range NAS servers. Iomega is now offering small and medium-sized businesses a complete line of NAS products for storing, backing up, and recovering critical business data.




Intel Corporation announced three Intel® Pentium® 4 processors supporting Hyper-Threading (HT) Technology and a trio of chipsets enabling faster and more feature-rich corporate and consumer PCs at mainstream price points. The new Intel Pentium 4 processors - 2.80C, and 2.60C, and 2.40C GHz - come equipped with HT Technology and an advanced 800 MHz system bus that allows information to flow to and from the processor more quickly.


Seagate announced an unprecedented strategy to address IT managers' need - a new 2.5-inch enterprise disc drive platform. Systems built around these small enterprise-class disc drives will provide data centers with unparalleled levels of IOPS (input/outputs per second) performance in a smaller system space compared to what's being delivered today.

May 09, 2003 LSI Logic first to demonstrate Serial Attached SCSI initiator-to-target functionality with full read
LSI Logic announced active validation of the Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface protocol by demonstrating both initiator and target mode functionality. The company executed complete SAS I/O read/write sequences with full data validation. LSI Logic SAS products will be based on the Fusion-MPT architecture to simplify and speed development.


Broad adoption of the advanced features of Serial ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment) was given a boost with Intel Corporation's release of the Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) v0.95 specification. The final specification is expected to be released in early 2004; the v0.95 spec enables production shipment of AHCI Serial ATA discrete host controllers that could hit the market by year's end.
