ASBIS Won ECA: 2011 Distributor of the Year Award

Monaco, February 15, 2011 – ASBIS has been honoured with the ‘Middle East & North Africa Distributor of the Year’ award during the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2011’ Gala Dinner that took place in Monaco on February 10, 2011.

The ‘Middle East & North Africa Distributor of the Year’ award has been a closely fought category in recent years. In 2010, the live vote resulted in a tie between Redington and Aptec, who received official nominations in 2011 alongside Almasa, ASBIS and FDC. This year’s winner was ASBIS picking up an impressive 41% of the vote.

“Making it to the final five nominees is an achievement in itself, based on a poll of hundreds of vendors in the run-up to the ceremony,” said Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, the organisers of the awards. “All distributors that were nominated should be pleased with their achievement. “These awards also showcased the continued diversity that exists in the EMEA distribution channel. The relationship between vendors and distributors is more important than ever as channel models evolve and the services offered expand and deepen.”

More than 1000 senior executives from the EMEA distribution and vendor community had attended the 'EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards' this year. Vendor executives with EMEA channel responsibility voted live for a shortlist of nominees for nine regional distributor categories. This year ASBIS has been nominated for the ‘EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards’ for the third year in a row as Top 5 distributors in 4 regions of company’ operations: Middle East & North Africa, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia & CIS and South East Europe.
